As we near the end of 2017, we like to reflect back on what has been our motivating force over the past 29 years to keep the Wings of Freedom Tour traveling across the country each year. Without question, our biggest motivation has been to make sure that the stories of our veterans who served will never be forgotten and continue to be shared with our future generations. The Collings Foundation's Lockheed P-38 Lightning is currently in Chino, CA at Planes of Fame Air Museum undergoing further maintenance, flight evaluation, and preparation before heading East next year to eventually be based near the Collings Foundation headquarters in Massachusetts. Here's a great video of it starting up last week in Chino - complete with the iconic inertial starters that bring the Allison engines to life! Enjoy! ...
