How to Bring the F-4 Phantom to You

In the year and a half that the Collings Foundation has operated the Phantom, it has been very successful at both military and commercial air shows along with featured special events. No matter whether it is at an Air Force show at Andrews AFB, a charity fund-raising show in Portsmouth, New Hampshire or a Fourth of July fly-over, crowds absolutely love the F-4 Phantom. It might be the noise of the jet thundering overhead, being able to speak with our experienced pilot, a bond with the aircraft made over thirty years ago, or being able to walk up and see one of the most important combat jets of all time in the flesh. Consider that hundreds of thousands of servicemen flew, maintained, and supported the Phantoms along with the many others who were aided by the close support of the "Rhino". Add to this that there are more Vietnam Veterans are alive today than WWII Veterans, and you will see that the draw created for your event will be immense. With headlines like "Jet Fighter Steals Show" (Houston Chronicle, Tuesday, October 26, 1999) the F-4 is not only a major attraction, it also provides major media impact and generates substantial coverage.

While the Phantom is a fantastic draw for your show, we recognize that the aircraft presents a financial challenge for some air shows. However, this does not mean that these challenges should prevent the F-4D from attending your show. Many air shows around the country have successfully attained corporate and individual sponsorship for the Phantom. The F-4D not only helps bring more attention to your show, but also acts as an excellent platform for corporate sponsorship. Whether it be an average of 85% front-page coverage or reports from three television stations and seven radio stations (ICAS, 2000), air shows draw a lot of attention. Whenever the Phantom takes to the sky for its daily routine, the narration can include "This performance is proudly brought to you by ___ corporation" etc. Corporate displays, signboards, and banners are welcome additions to the Phantom display. The pilot can provide photo opportunities, give motivational speeches for employees, and be a guest at a corporate hospitality event. We are happy to cooperate with the sponsor with their program so that the desired goals may be met in the most effective way possible.

These are just a few suggestions and we hope that they help you in obtaining the necessary funds for one of the greatest combat jets of all time. If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know and we would be happy to talk.
