One of the most unique aircraft ever produced, the Fiesler Fi-156 Storch was an aircraft built for a specific task. Able to take off and land in literally twice its own length, it was perfect for forward air observation on battlefields and air ambulence work. Flying for the German Luftwaffe in WWII, it saw service on all fronts.

The Fi-156 Storch flown by the Collings Foundation is based in Stow, MA and flies regularly. It can be seen at regional events and always attracts attention when it flies. Expect to watch it fly at our Fall open house in Stow, MA.
